Helping friend with engine install. Need some info.

I have offered my help with a buddy's '89 Toyota 4X4 engine install. I have experience installing 20R / 22R / and 18RG motors in my old '72 and '76 Celica's. He will be buying a used long block already assembled from a local parts dismantler with a warranty. What are some head's up things I should know going into this and where can I find good write ups / literature to make this go quick and easy.

i just installed a 22r in an '86, with the help of one other person. If you have basic knowledge of installing engines, its pretty straight forward. One thing to keep in mind is to not tighten up the 'stiffening brackets' (those that connect to the lower portion of the bell housing to the rear of the block) until you get the bolts that connect those to the bell housing in place. Other then that its pretty straight forward, just make sure you've got a good chain hoist and have got the clutch plate properly aligned with an alignment tool.
