idle surge 2000 2.4 tacoma

I started having this problem after I cleaned the throttle body and the MAF. I took the throttlebody off and cleaned it . When I was disconnecting hoses one turned out to be water so I quickley reattached it. I replaced the throttlebody gasket when I reinstalled it. Now my idle wants to go down but raises up and stays high. I cleaned the MAF with electrical spay cleaner.
I thought it could be a vacuum leak so I sprayed start-up fluid around hoses and TB to see if it would lower the idle but no effect. I checked the coolant lever and its correct. Thanks for any suggestions.

I found an article that said I should have removed the TPS before I cleaned the Throttlebody and could have contaminated the TPS. I used brake clean to clean the throttlebody.

I've been waiting for it to stop rainning so I could work on my truck. Two of my kids moved back home and my garage is full of furniture. My truck as of today has mysteriously gone back to a normal idle? If it comes back I'll definitely post and let you know what happened I hate posts with no follow up as to the final solution.
