USA 22RE Thick White Smoke

When I start my truck in the morning I get this thick white smoke. It has a real stout smell to it.Does not smell like oil, gas,or eggs.Real hard to explain how it smells. It has a real small rugh idle,Sluggish, like something is holding it back from its power. It also gets very poor gas millage. My 4.3L chevy 1/2 ton truck gets better gas millage.(SUMMPN WRONG)I have changed the plugs, wires, cap and rotor, fuel filter, and air filter.I had the cat checked and it was OK.It has a sensor in front and back of it.I put a new muffler on.I have had the valves adjusted and timming checked too.I have looked on all the posts and it seems it might be the O2 sensor, but nobody has said anything about fuel millage, sluggishness,or white smoke.I bought the truck about 7 months ago, from an older guy that had taken good care of the truck. He had to rebuild the motor(bored .30 over)because something had a crack in it and was getting water in the oil.I forget what it was but I think it was behind the timming belt.He said he has never replaced any sensor on it.He said that was the only thing that ever went wrong with it.I need to find and fix the problem so I can sell it.Too small and too under powered for me.I thought I would Like it.The motor has about 27000 miles on it.Please help any way you can. Thanks

It's probably antifreeze, is your coolant level going down? is your oil level going up & look like chocolate milk? one or the other or both. could be headgasket or worse.

It sounds like a cracked head or bad headgasket. Does the problem go away? try to bring it back to the guy who rebuilt the motor.

I don't smell any antifreeze so I don't think that's it.My oil and water are OK nothing out of the ordinary there. If I had a cracked head or gasket problem, wouldn't I get the water in oil or visa versa.I beleave it would be overheating too if I am not mistaking. This guy is not a real mech.He just knows how to do rebuilds.I have taken it to him and he doesn't know.I have known this guy for a long time and he is very nice and honest. He wouldn't sell me this truck if there was something wrong with it.I am worried about the other problems more than the smoke.

Thick white smoke is usually a water/antifreeze leak, have you kept an eye on the coolant overflow tank? It will fill up the radiator as the radiator cools down, then of course, when the tank runs dry, you start noticing the radiator level going down.
It can also be bad valve seals. They will allow oil to get into the cylinders while the engine is stopped, and when you start up, it smokes for a few seconds.

Not familiar with Toyota trucks, but I would check piston rings and blow by if there is white smoke. Does it disappear when it's warmed up? If not that's bad. If it goes away it's normal I suppose.

could be humidity build up and a combination of the cold air causing condensation build up in the intake.

I found the rough idle problem. It was the TPS (throttle positioning sensor) The white smoke is just normal condensation I guess.I don't have any leaks and I just got a valve adjustment.(which made it tick louder.arrrgg)Thanks guys
