I just replaced the head and now I get no compression on the #1 cyl. #4 has low compression as well, like 40psi. 2 and 3 have 125psi. Do you think the valves in the head are bad. I bought a reman head with new valves in it. Anything else I can check before pulling the head off again

Check your cam timing
Make sure that the valves are closed on the compression stroke, as in the cam timing is good, and the valves are adjusted properly and aren't being held open by too little valve lash.
I can't think of anything else that wouldn't require pulling the head.

you can do a leak down test to find out were the loss of compression is coming from.
