22re skips at around 2800rpm. Any suggestions???

My 86 4runner with a 22re motor skips if it is at idle at around 2800 rpms if it is held right there. Also when i am driving trying to save gas the truck will skip if drivin at low rpm steadily. It throughs a code #7. (which is tps. tps wiring, or computer). I replaced the tps which had code #11 (tps) and know it picked up this skip with code #7. Anyone have this problem??? Please give any suggestions

Sounds like a stuck EGR valve. take the vacuum line off of the egr valve, plug it and check it at the rpms.

Did you adjust the new TPS when you installed it? It's a potentiometer, and if it has slots(which I think the RE has) it needs to be adjusted so it'll signal the correct voltage fr different throttle positions.
