Advice on touching up a scratch

I have this scratch on the side of my truck that is too extensive for using scratch removing compound. What is the best method for doing a good touch up job? Is any particular product recommended?

If it's too deep for any sort of compound than it's too deep for any stuff you can buy at an auto parts store. Maybe take it too a paint shop and see what they say.

if its deep into the metal, youd probably best sand it down as far as you can (best to bare metal) and fill it with spot filler. Its exactly like bondo but itll form to a much smaller spot. Then take a fine grit paper (you cam probably start with fine becuse its not too big of a spot) and sand it down to the original formation of the panel. Sande down the area around it out an inch or 2 and prime, wet sand the primer, and repaint with original color. (can get custom mixed from a local auto paint dealer). hope this helps out a little bit. Im doing the same to mine, and it seems to be going good.

You can buy the (custom) factory paint (touchup bottle or spray cans) from: PaintScratch.com
