22r 22re head swap

Hey all,

A while ago someone asked whether a head swap were indeed possible between a 22r and a 22re engine. No one knew back then, but hopefully someone might know something new. Anyone? This is between an 87 22re and an 84 22r btw

Thanks

Cool thanks,

I'm not actually going to convert from carb to EFI, since it is already EFI. But from what I gathered the heads are compatible, and will just bolt up right?

No they cannot:

81-84 heads=larger chamber and round shaped exhaust ports
85-95 heads=smaller chamber and pear shaped exhaust ports
