Lightbulb Miracle cure?

Hi,
My 1995 4 runner blew a head gasket at 149,000 miles.Since I am not talented enough to attempt a head job myself,I took my truck to a local garage.Much to my dismay I found out the repair would be about $2,000.I did not feel my truck was worth investing that much money at this point and I decided to donate it to charity.
Then I decided to use a product that I had used in the past with good results that claims to permently seal a leaking Head gasket. At $60 a quart it was worth trying. Now 7,000 miles later my truck had been running good.
The only problem seems to be that shortly after I change the engine oil the leak reappears.I had to retreat the engine a couple of times after an oil change. The manufacturer and common logic tell me there is no connection between my changing the oil and the problems resurfacing.
I know there is no substitute for properly repairing the vehicle and I normally don`t believe in "miracle "products, but this really has me puzzled!
Does anyone have a similar expierience?
Danny

I believe there was a head gasket recall some time ago. You may want to look into that. Try asking the guys over at www.yotatech.com to see if they can help you out.

That quote is way too high usually an honest reasonably priced mechanic who has experience in these engines would charge $500-600,always get a second, third, fourth and more opinions.
I would call your local community colleges/vocational schools and they will replace it for free if not find a friend, relative, neighbour or co-worker who like to repair cars on the side as a hobby or a favour or even trade services or buy them several cases of beer.
If that fails find a local off-road club and you will find severak people that own 4-Runners,pickups and landcruisers where those people have all of the experience and will replace your headgasket and check the cylinder head for warpage for around $300.
