Hi,
My 1995 4 Runner has some head gasket issues that have been temporarily resolved. However while some water got into the engine oil it seemed to travel from the valve cover port that leads to the air intake. The truck starts right up and idles fine, but when I start to drive there is no power at all. When I removed the intake hose there were a few water droplets inside. Can anyone tell me how I can get everything dry ?
I have had water in the engine in the past and it had never effected the fuel system.
Thanks for any advice.
Danny

Hi,
The engine in my 4 Runner is the 3.0 V6.I had stopped the gasket leak with a Product called Blue Devil.I had used this in the engine 7,000 miles ago and it ran well until it developed another leak. I reapplied the Blue Devil and it seems to have stopped the leak.My truck seems to be idling well, running at normal temp with no coolant loss or smoking.Somehow water is making its way into the intake. When I go to drive my truck it bogs out and has no power.I`m not sure if there was a lot of moisture in the engine that has not burned off.I have had the engine idling for about an hour.
Could a small gasket leak cause a small amount of coolant to leak into the fuel system?
Thanks for any advice.
Danny
Nothing you add to the engine is going to fix your leak but a new set of gaskets, whether it be the intake or head gaskets. If your head gasket have not been replace on the recall yet the it about time to get it done with no charge to you. If your not sure as to whether they have been replace yet call Toyota and give them your vin# and they will let you know!! Your wasting your time and ruinning your engine with the additives. Check your engine oil filler cap and see if it has a creamy milky sludge under it. Also check engine oil dipstick for coolant in crankcase. The oil should not be milky or creamy looking!!

Hi,
I know there is no substitute for new head gaskets, however I had already checked with Toyota and they said my vin # was not a part of the recall. They also said that the recall was only good for the first 100,000 miles.Given the value of the truck VS the cost of new head gasket repair,I had just decided to just try to get through this winter and sell it to anyone who wants to do the repair.

Hi,
I did speak to the people at Toyota 1-800- GO TOYOTA.They were the ones that told me that any recall would end at 100,000 miles. My truck has 155,000 miles on the odometer
