New fan idler and timing belt

ok so my fan idler died. Which lead to my fan flying through my leaky radiator. After pulling the fan idler which I mistakened for a water pump at first (I know I know) I discovered that my timing belt needs to be changed. I've never done this before. Any suggestions? I need to line the engine and make marks....any tricks to getting this done fast?

OH ya

You know it buddy. Theres a LOT of people who know a lot more than I do about this, but I've got a few suggestions.

First off, see my post at:

http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/t61501.html

I think that will get you there, the post title is Oil Pan Via Hubs. D'mon has a good recommendation there on pulling the pan if you have to dig out disintegrated chain guides.

keep the Haynes as a reference and visit:

He's got a good run down there.

I'd say the trick to getting it done fast is either knowing what you are doing or paying to get it done. It has taken me some time but I have been very carefull and I have lots of time. I could certainly rip through it again in a weekend after having been through it once, but I'd hate to be in a rush, that'd take the fun out of it
Pete
