Fuel injector problems?

Hi,
My 1995 3lv6 Toyota 4 Runner had some moisture in the engine from a leaking head gasket. some of the water had migrated from the tube on the driver side valve cover to the air intake manifold.Now when the truck starts it idles very low,and if I give it some gas it will just bog out.I have tried drying the intake out with a soft cloth.There was a lot of sludgy gunk that I removed.Unfortunately this didn`t help and my truck is not drivable.My question to any one out there with any suggestions:Is it possible that the fuel injector are fouled by the moisture,and how can I correct the problem.I have sprayed half a can of intake cleaner into the intake port and removed the E.G.R. unit and cleaned the area well.Any help will be gratefully appreciated.This thing is driving me bonkers!!
Thanks;
Danny

You probably need to pull the trottle body and give it a good cleaning, making sure all ports or holes for vacuum are open. A can of carb cleaner and a toothbrush will do a fine job!!

I'm assuming you have replaced the head gasket?
Check your timing, both valve and ignition. Sounds like ignition timing to me. Hows the cap and rotor? Hows the plugs?

Hi,
I`m in the process of cleaning the throttle body on the vehicle now with a good quality cleaner and it seems to be helping a little.however it seems to sludge up quickly,I guess from the fuel not burning correctly.The cap and rotor are fairly new and seems to be fine.The timing is correct also.
Thanks guys for the advice
Danny

You also might want to check the PVC valve and replace it if needed. The sludge in the throttle body is usually from the crankcase vent hose!!

Hi,
I hope this is not a stupid question,but where is my p.v.c. valve?The crankcase vent hose is where the moisture is migrating from but there is no valve at the end of the hose.
Thanks,
Danny
