Question Automatic Locking hubs

Hello every body!!!

Just a question, hope some of you can help me.

O got a 89 4Runner with Automatic Differential Disconnecting Hubs, but in several time during off road situation they fails to engage, I been thinking to change this automatic hubs to manual ones, but I don't know if this manual locking hubs fits in my 4Runner.

1989 4Runner SR5.

Thank you in advance

Check out this website. http://www.off-road.com/toyota/tech/autohub/ , it will give you some insight.

Good plan getting rid of the autohubs. Autohub bad , manual hub good !

just a last late reply... If you decide to switch to manual hubs(which you should), don'tgo soft. Get the best. WARN hubs! If you install them correctly, you'll be smilin'! -Josh

Ok, so now we heard from someone who decided to throw his money away.

Everything I've read about the OEM locking hubs are that they are just as good (if not better) than Warn or any other aftermarket. If you need to buy new, ok go ahead and buy Warn or whatever. But the wreckers are full of stock hub locks on trucks (basically because they NEVER break, so no one needs the parts). Before spending the $200+ on Warn, I suggest you look at the local wrecker..... I've never had problems with my stock equipment, other than to open and inspect (ok, I was nosey) once.

Just my opinion,
D'mon
