There's a couple parts. The vacuum switching stuff is between the intake and the exhuast manifolds towards the firewall, the EGR valve itself is hanging off the exhaust manifold towards the front of the engine. Looks like a flying saucer on top with a cast iron assembly on the bottom. The cast iron bit has a steel pipe to the exhaust system, and another that goes to the intake.
