How many of you sew in your spare time? Anyone???

Right, well I'm not actually trying to elicit your skills with a needle and thread, more so just looking for advice with regards to a rip in my seat. I'm a very proud new parent, you see, and I want my baby to be perfect, just like every good, overbearing new Dad.

I opted for the TRD package on my '05 Tacoma which came with the water resistant sport seats (LOVE that lumbar support). The mesh/net covering got caught on a zipper and started a very small rip in the mesh itself, which is now slightly frayed. I simply want to find the best way to prevent it from spreading and becoming a tear that needs mending. I was considering a bonding agent of some sort, possibly even clear nail polish. Any suggestions? Talk amongst yourselves.

You might want to try a drop of CA jell ("super glue"). Cyano Acrylate (sp.?) is available in various formulations and can be cured instantly with an accelerant commonly called a "kicker".

I asked my resident expert (CFO, Chief cook and bottle washer, etc) and she said go to Wally mart, to the sewing section and ask for "Fray Check". It is made for that kind of fix. Waterproof after one hour.

"Fray Check" eh, I'll head over to the superstore mecca this evening and take a look. I would assume that your 'resident expert' was in the kitchen making your dinner and fetching a beer when you asked, correct? At least I should HOPE so.

Funniest joke I ever heard:

How does a man open a beer?
He doesn't. She should have it open by the time she brings it to him.

I hear ya. I'm telling jokes from where? Right. Work. Where's she? You guessed it. Home.

We have 4 kids, so she's taking care of them, but still...

Man with 4 kids I think you have the easy part of the day. I'm sure she'll open the beer after you get your butt to the store and replace what she drank while you were at work! Now thats funny!
