22re interfearance

ok i have my pistons out of my 22re and i notive that there are valve reliefs in them . i know they are aftermarket or at least they arent what came in the engine originaly because they are stamped .50 mm . anyways ive seen other pistons out there that dont have the valve relief and i got to thinking maby the pistons i have are not interfearance but stock ones are? or maby the old short deck blocks are and the 85-95 arent . i was just bored and thinkning a lil too much about my truck, which is usuall on the weekends. but i have seen alot of different answers on this issue and i want to clearify it if at all possible. if anybody knows for sure and has tested or proven this let us know. i see alot of questions about this and alot of people break timing chains. the problem is we never hear the outcome or iff they bent valves ect. i know somebody has to know for sure.

ps how do i post pictures on here ? do i need my own server space?

My timing chain broke in my '86 22R PU. The valves were bent. All of them I believe. I did the leakdown test myself so I saw the fluid pouring through. Hope that helps.

the 22 r series will bend the valves, the pistons might be stock style with an overbore

not sure so both 22r and re are the same 85-95? btw fred do you know a good machine shop arround central florida with good prices? i need a crank checked and turned and a bore/hone. just trying to shop arround. i have a guy up here that says he'll do the short block for 285 thats crank turn and polish , bore 4 holes, magnaflux, check linebore, recondition rods, wrist pin bushings pressed in,and paint. that seems to be a good price. i am thinking ill get the enginebuilder kit from ebay to do the build up and the head from clearwater head or just rebuild the one here.
