Question A/T issue

Hello,

I purchased my used '02' dbl cab v6 about 2 weeks ago.

I have a problem with it. It seems like sometimes it slips and jerks into second gear while normally driving it. I took it in last week to the Toyota dealer where I purchased it and after the mechanics diagnosed it they determined that it needed a new A/T transmission. I picked it up last night and noticed that it still has that same problem and maybe even more apparent now. I'm wondering if the dealer even put a new transmission in as promised and according to the invoice they did.

I called them up and I demanded a free loaner vehicle while they investigate this issue furthermore. I'm dropping it off this afternoon. Am I just being too picky or do 2002 Tacoma's with A/T's sometimes slip a little and jerk going into second gear?

Any suggestions and opinions would greatly be appreciated..

thanks...

You're not being picky at all, that thing should run like a top. How many miles are on it?

eastoy- Always write down the s/n of your tranny before having it replaced. It is a good way to check to see if you are getting hosed. It sounds like it is either the valve body of the tranny or if it is an E.C.T(electronically controlled transmission) the problem could be either the cars computer or the ECT unit for the tranny.

Thanks a lot TR. I wish I would have known to write down the s/n of the tranny. But you would think that a reputable Toyota dealership would do quality work and thrive in customer satisfaction, so why was I even worried? I know now that you can't even trust the dealership....

My Tacoma is now back at the Waldorf Toyota dealership for the second time. At least they gave me a FREE '05' Rav4 4wd loaner while they get my truck right this time....hopefully..
