Ill have to chk the recalls tomarrow at work. As far as tsb's, there are none for the trans or driveline system.
what is your problem?
I have a recent post going about my tranny problem. Anyway to try to make it short, it was slipping a little and jerking at times when going into second gear. Took it in to the dealer and they gave me a whole new transmission b/c it's still under the 30 day 1,000 mile dealer warranty. Well, I'm still having the same exact problems and I'm begining to think if they actually did anything at all. I'm taking it in today and I demanded for a loaner truck while they find the problem.....
if the problem still exists after this visit, bring it back immediately and start looking into your states lemon laws.
Okay, so does the "state lemon laws" still apply for used vehicles as well? My truck is a 2002 Tacoma with 79,000miles. It's still under the Toyota dealer used warranty of 30days/1,000 miles.
Check your fluid, if they changed the trans out it will be nice and red. Also they could have just changed the fluid and called it a day. If the old owner neglected to have it flushed every 30k and they did it for the first time at 79k miles, then the trans will probably go bad shortly form doing that.

Is there another way to actually tell if the transmission was recently replaced? Does the original trans. have the vehicles vin# on it?
Well, I'm taking it in this afternoon and they better get it right this time!
How smooth should my transmission shift anyway? Should it be pretty silky or tight and precise?

there is a 30h recall for a fuel hose protector, Your truck does fall in the vin range, however I cant chk that specific vin from home.
Thanks for your help. Sidney suggested to take my vin# off of public display so I did. If you still want to help me out send me a p.m. and I'll give you my vin# again.
