Changing V6 Clutch -vs- 22RE Clutch

I just recently changed my clutch in my '87 (22RE, 4x4, extended cab). It went pretty smooth...I didn't have any problems.

A friend of mine has a '89 (V6, 4x4, extended cab) and his clutch is going out and he asked me if I would do the job for him. I said I would, but I wanted to get some info first.

How much different is the job between the V6 and the 4 cylinder? Like as far as it being more difficult because of the V6? I didn't know if there are other things that I should worry about that I didn't have to with the 4 cylinder. I guess one thing I was thinking about was the exhaust. Will it have to be messed with? I didn't touch the exhaust when I did mine.

This is probably a silly question, but I just want to make sure I am not getting anything more involved that what I did on my truck.

Thanks for any help...

It's no big deal. The exhaust is not in the way, per se, though you have to remove two exhaust clamp bolts on the driver's side of the motor.

changed my v-6 clutch yesterday. replaced it with a centerforce. I had no trouble except for the starter. I forgot to take out the back bolt and I ended up fighting the transmission for an hour until I realized my mistake. Other than that just make sure you get an extra long extension for the top bolt on the trans. I use a four foot ext. and it worked slick.
