Good donor vehicle for buckets

I just bought a used 1986 Toyota Pickup that came with a bench seat. Don't like it at all because I am used to sitting higher. I have been pricing new replacement seats and they are spendy. Does anyone have any experience on finding bucket seats from a donor vehicle that work. Also finding brackets would probably be a problem too. Any ideas that have actually been tested would be greatly appreciated. I already have figured out that finding Toyota pickups (1984 - 1988) in junk yards is going to be tough but there are plenty of import cars with nice seats.

I have done this a couple of times. If you are a little bit handy with tools and have access to a drill, hacksaw and a vise, you can make brackets for just about anything that will fit in the truck. It's not hard and, as you have noted, can save a bunch of bux.

If all you want is to sit higher, maybe you can add spacers under the existing seat.

if you look in the MINITRUCKIN magazine about three issues back, you'll find an article about mounting 4runner buckets into your pickup's cab.. very little work.. check it out.. you might like that a little better... i like mine pretty well..

Thanks to everyone who gave an opinion. I will do some measuring and go back to the local U-Wrench-It and check out some buckets. I am kinda handy with metal. I got my handy Salz-All, torch and a few Jeep seat mounting brackets around the shop so I will give it a try. I would love to get my hands on some 4Runner buckets but Toyotas in salvage yards are pretty scarce around here in Virginia. Does anyone have a line on any salvage yards that have a web site? I was able to get bucket seats for a 1986 Full Size Jeep Pickup from J&W Auto Wreckers out in California and was even able to get a fuel filler hose from Hammond 4WD Spare Parts in Australia but I am clueless when it comes to Toyota parts. I am open to all suggestions.
