UK toyota hilux surf?

hi im new to this site, i havent got one of the above mind! but my brother in law has! he cant open the back (hatch type) window, when he presses the button all he gets is a "click". he has tried the fuses but no luck. motor possibly? if it is the motor does anyone know how to get at it please! (he says taht in the back where he presumes the motor would be its all covered in plastic) cheers guys! oh sorry its imported from japan its a 2.4 diesel automatic and i thinks its K plated.

If you are talking about the tailgate window, on my '86 4runner there is a switch under 1 of the bolt holes for the removeable top. It is on the drivers side, 2nd from back. Window will not work if bolt is not installed.
There is also a power window relay mounted behind the panel on drivers side. It is not in the drivers door, but where the back door would be if it was a 4-door. Mine had come unmounted and sustained water damage (ie rust) by sitting in the well. I am an electronics technician by trade and was able to repair the circuit board damage.
