shifting five speed question

Well i am the proud owner of a 1980 toyota 2wd 5 speed truck. runs great and the trans feels reel good. Now i discovered this thing is easy to shift with no clutch. Slide it out of gear blip the throttle(sometimes) and slide it in the next gear. This method seems to work better than clutching every gear. Now my question, it goes into gear smoothly with no grinding clunking or other funky noises. So am i going to damage the trans shifting with out the clutch?? I figured some one here will know..

Later chris

Yes..you can shift easily because of sincromesh, but shifting without a clutch is hard on the sincros, which will wear out and then you'll be grinding, clutch or not.
