Any ideas on painting stock wheels?

Me and the kid are thinking about painting the stock wheels on our 94 4X4 extracab V6....probably flat black.....maybe gloss?
I'm turning the rig over to him as he approaches 16....I got a Titan SE to haul our travel trailer, which I love. But we plan on keeping the workhorse as long as he wants to keep it. The wheels are beginning to show rust around the edges of the rim and understandably so as it has 150k on it. We're going to go get some 31-10.50-15s soon and we got to thinking that maybe we should paint the wheels. Anyone ever tackle this? sand? Engine paint? simple?

Better idea would be to have them sand blasted and them powder coated. Should be able to have them done in a semi gloss or gloss/ It will last alot longer then paint and would look great.

I guess it depends on what route u wanna take. Do it yourself or have it done for you. Like FireTacoma said "powder coating would look good and should last longer than paint". There too much u have to do just to have them painted.

Not anybody, you need a big oven to bake them after coating.
You could also get the NASCAR style steelies for the truck for pretty cheap. Come black and you can get them a little wider to match the new tires.

About 70 bux or so.
