22RE Engine

I have a 94 toyota truck, 2wd with the fuel injected 2.4l. I have seen a lot of fuel injector cleaners and other additives, but do any of them work?

The Chevron stuff works pretty well. You might want to look into getting some stuff called Sea Foam. You can get it at any Napa auto parts store. It really works wonders for the engine.

Well, the most popular way to do the treatment is throught the PCV valve. It has the directions on the bottle. Basically, you pour 1/3 to 1/2 bottle of Sea Foam to a container, you unplug the hose that leads to the PCV and drop the hose into the container to let it suck up the SF. Your engine will want to conk out, but don't let it, just ease off the SF until the engine revs up again. Suck all of the SF from the container and turn off the engine and let sit for about 10 minutes or so. Start your engine and your rig will blow enough smoke to make your neighbors think you've started a fire, but that's normal. SF is supposed to clean all the internals and that's why you get all the smoke. Pour the rest in the gas tank to let it clean the injectors. I think that's how SF is used. It's been awhile since I've used it. Do a search over on www.customtacos.com on SeaFoam or Sea Foam and you will have tons to read about.
