22r fuel line question

This is my first post, I just got a 1988 Toyota pickup that I'm fixing up, and I stumbled onto this forum. Looks like you guys really know your stuff, so here goes...

The fuel line that comes out of the gas tank on my 88 pickup is shot. This is the line that goes to the fuel filter, it's metal, and it rusted through. I looked in my repair book and it shows this as one big piece with the three different lines and all the junk that goes down in the fuel tank included. Do i have to replace the whole big piece, or can I just get the individual metal line. Also, where would I go about finding this part? Thanks

Seems to me that it is the same diameter of the brake lines, if you'd want to try making your own. Or any auto parts store, toyota dealership.

I had the same problem on my 87 and i repaired it with steel brake line tubing, rubber fuel line and clamps. Works fine so far.

I called the dealership and they said it would cost $200!!! That's for the lines, and the circular thing that screws onto the gas tank and holds them there. I'm going to get a big piece of rubber, almost like a cork and put two brake lines through it. Hopefully it'll work. Thanks

After dissecting the old piece to see just what it was made of, (it was only 2 tubes, nothing more) I made a new one out of a toilet float that screwed onvery nicely, and some plumbing pipe. This is only a temp. fix until I can find/afford the real part used, but it works suprisingly well. Thanks for the help guys
