v6 power

Hi all newbi here. Just wondering how long Toyota's V6 has been rated at almost 250 hp and 282 ft of torque? I am thinking about buying a new truck and I am considering new and used. I do tow about 3500 to 4000 pound ski boat now and again just want to make sure it can do it. any input would be great.

Which vehicle are you looking at? There are different v6's in different Toyota suv's and truck's. If you are looking at the Tacoma- the 2005 model is the first year to be rated at 245 hp (with the 4.0L engine). The model year 1995.5- 2004 Tacoma's were rated at 192hp with the 3.4L v6.
Either v6 will have no problem towing your ski boat...the 3.4L was rated to tow up to 5,000 lbs (this number may very buy a few hundred pounds depending on the exact model you are looking at : ie: 4wd, xtra-cab, double cab, etc...) let me know which configuration you are interested in and I can give you more specific specs- I still have the brochure that came w/ all of that info in my 2004 Tacoma.
