1994 toyota p/u paint

i have a red 1994 p/u and its quiclly fading. its red. when i dry it after washing, pigments often appear on the cloth. is there any way to prevent further deterioration or protect it now?

It is too far gone now to easially save it. The best thing to do is get it repainted. (i will be repainting mine in the spring). If the actual paint and color is still good, you may be able to spray a new clearcoat on top and that will prevent it from fading/chipping further, but its not the best way to solve the problem.Waxing it will only make it worse since its so far gone because the wax stirrs up and takes off the very top part of the paintjob, thus in your case making your problem worse.
