Hi,
I have a 1995 SR5 4 Runner with the 3Lv6 engine. It has 156,ooo miles on the motor.I bougth it when it had 118,000 miles on it.last fall the head gasket started leaking.I have since driven my truck another 7,000 miles using a "gasket sealant" that you add to the coolant.(I know I don`t believe in this stuff either, but it worked,at least temporarily.) Now the gasket is acting up again and its time to get things done right. The truck is in very good shape otherwise but

being 10 years old with this many miles on the enginemy question is this.Do you think it is worth spending about $2,000 on a head gasket job or should I have another engine put into it?My understanding is it is around the same amount of labor time to install another motor as to do the head gaskets.
Also does anyone know if it is true that you can buy a reasonably priced used toyota motor that has been imported from Japan?I`m just weighing my options if I don`t just trade it in.
Thanks for listening,
Danny
