Question Engine swap

I have an 86 4x4 with a 2.4lt. I want to put a newer 2.7lt in it. Has anyone wver done this or is there a sight that can help with this.

I have the 22re, it is dead, so it must be replaced or rebuilt, I am thinking i would rather just put the 2.7 in for the added power and fuel savings
