timing

Have any of you had problems in the timing belt-idler pulley area. I had a squeak sound and the dealer is saying something about pulley bearing bad. One part he is wanting to replace is over $450.00 for idler pulley or bearing. Does that sound right to you informed guys?

I guess I need a better descrip. The Tacoma is the 3.4 eng -auto -69,000 miles. Started a squeaky sound when started cold usually seems to quite down as warmed up. Took to dealer who says water pump leaking-timing drive belt tensioner bearings or something like that- He was not real good explaining over the phone- One of the parts is over $450.00- looks like with going ahead and changing timing belt, gona be around $900.00.

I am a newbie her guys and need some advice...?

The biggie is the warranty program I bought with the truck don't cover the parts that are bad??? I know I am gona be in for a fight with that.
The old First Extended Service Corp. Have I been taken to the cleaners guys???
The dealership owner is suppossed to call me today (sure)???
