I use Cibie and Hella ecode. Both are great. The Cibies cost about $65 from cibieusa.com and the Hellas are about $38 from rallylights.com. That is where I bought mine, they can be bought at many places.
The cibie lights throw a lot of light to the sides and light up people in the lanes next to you but they also have a little better and more even pattern on the road in front of you. The high beam is very tight and long as compared to the Hellas. The Hellas have a large relector in front of the bulb that eliminates most of the side glare. The l Hellas have very little glare. The high beams are a bit high and wide. It's great if you use a bulb with a 100 watt high beam and drive a lot of winding roads. Lots of light everywhere. If you want to run high wattage bulbs, I use a wiring harness from suvlights.com. It works fine and is very easy to install.
I've tried many light modifications on my truck. All my lights are brighter by using different bulbs or modifying the reflective areas. I've never had a wiring problem in 11 years.
I'd go with the Hella ecode headlights, they are the best for the money. Cibies are not worth the extra $22. If you are thinking of using colored bulbs, try to ride in someone elses car that has them. Some bulb colors actually make it harder for some people to see what is in front of them. Some people have trouble with certain colors. I use sylvania silver-stars. They're a little whiter than regular halogens but not colored.
