Ixe owned my 92 pickup 22re 4cyl since august and it hasnt given me any trouble until today. I started it up and drove it over to the side of my house and left it running for maybe 10 + mins while i was in it checking some things inside. I closed the hood, not even toughnig the motor, and got back in to move it back to its spot in the yard. I revved it up a little, maybe 3,000 RPM and backed down the driveway and drove back to its usual place that it sits. IT started running rough (kinda coughing and going under where it is set to idle. I set it to about 1000 RPM and it always did good there before. It jumps around between 500-1000 RPM and acts like it wants to shut off, but it never did yet.I then readjusted the idle a bit, and it seemed to help a little. I let it sit for about an hour this afternoon and went back to it and started up. It started a little rough and dropped back to 1000 immediately. (usually runs about 2000 for 5 mins until warmed up) Then it acted up again, but not quite as bad.
What could be the problem here. like i said, it just started to do it today and will run, but sputters and and coughs a bit. I checked all plug wires, and the obvious, but found nothing. Any help would be appreciated.
