Solid axle is gonna be your best bet offroad. Especially w/rocks and whatnot. But I would be careful with it. A converision is expenxive without the know-how and if you are a average wheeler, IFS is more than adequate.

What year is your truck?

I think if all you're wanting to do is get your truck 4 inches up in the air, clear some bigger meats, and do some amateur offroading, then an IFS list is your best bet. IT will actually articulate well, believe it or not. Most IFS lifts with our trucks will give a good flex .

My standard reply whenever anybody asks this question or how much does a SAS cost is, if you have to ask the question, you're not ready for a SAS.

flex does you no good if you don't get enough down force to provide traction

wheel what ya got
you'll figure out what ya need as ya go and then make the changes
don't build a monster rig right off the bat
ya need to learn a little before you start doing major custom fab work, cause if you do the custom fab wrong or needed something different you wasted a lot of time

stay IFS for awhile. You may find out you dont need the soldi axle for what your doing. If its your DD than IFS will also be smoother on the streets. If your really keen on SAS plan on dropping some big bucks just to get the kit(s) for it not to mention the work if you cant fab it yourself.
