Could be the springs. Spray some WD-40 in and around the springs and see if that helps.

This is common with the IFS. Apparently it happens when the steering knuckle rubs against a bolt head on the suspension (turning sharp with the suspension moving). They do make a something called "Groan Stopper". I guess it is a bolt cover that will prevent the noise when it rubs. I had no idea what was happening when my truck did this, along with the other Toyota trucks I have seen (heard). I ran across this "groan stopper" online. I didn't think of buying them...its not hurting anything, its just noisy when you turn sharp.

Here is a link to a place that sells them: http://www.carpartsteam.com/TO_Picku...Cover_019.html

You can just search "groan stopper bolt cover" and you will come up with places online that sell it...

Hope this helps...

You may be experiencing the creaking/groaning sound from the steering stops. There are bolts on either side that have a plastic cap on them that eventually wear away, when they do, the bolt face rubs on the stop causing the creaking sound. Take a look behind the front wheels and you should see the bolts, the face should have a bit of wear on it and maybe even the remnants of the placstic caps. Grease them up on a regular basis and that that will illiminate the noise. I've read that other people use anit-sieze there instead as it tends to last much longer in between applications.
