01 taco From the headers back

I think that I am going to go with a new exhaust system. I wanted to get anyones input on the trd headers and also the rest of the exhaust system. I am wondering if there is a better or prefered system that the 2001 v-6 may prefer. I dont want to spend money on an exhaust system and have the check engine light come on. Also should I have the dealership install this or should I take it somewhere else? I would like to have a louder exhaust so that you can hear the truck from a distance. Anyones suggestions would help.
thanks.

Don't go to a dealer. Find a reputable exhaust shop in your are and let them do your system. Tell them what you want and make sure you're satisfied. I would recommend gettting a Flowmaster, Borla, Gibson, or Flo-Pro muffler and having them bend up a system for you. If you don't want the CEL to come on, just keep your cat. BTW. I'm not sure about headers for an '01.

If any, it will be a minut amount of power. You can buy a high-flow cat if you want. But it won't be much of a difference. On some V6's it gives more sound, but not a noticeable power gain.
