Anyone have turndowns?

I'm thinking about having my piping from my Flowmaster muffler back cut off and having a turndown welded in right behind my differential. I want some more sound! Has anybody here done this? How does it sound on a 22RE? If no turndown, should I just swap my 2.5" tip out for a 3"?

I've heard the suggestions about exhaust leaks and whatnot a million times before. Just help me out with some of my questions.

Thanks in advance

If you want sound, just run a turn down before the rear diff (not behind). Forget the exhaust tips. They're a waste.

I have a 86 SR5 Turbo 4 x 4 Pickup and I have modified my exhaust. Primarily since the connector pipe between the cat and the muffler broke back in september. I just had a new connector pipe installed yesterday and I have my mufller with a turn down pipe end in front of the rear differential. It seems to work great but it didn't add a lot of punch to the exhaust sound. It just shortens up the whole exhaust system so I think the perfromance may be a little better.
