Exclamation Water Hell

I have an '89 pickup with a 22re. I went Puddle jumping and hit a big puddle that sparyed water up into my intake. It stalled the engine so I pulled the plugs and tried to crank it over with the starter and it wouldn't turn over. Is the engine hydrolocked or could the battery just be low due to running with a wet alternator or could the starter even be weak because it was wet?

If its hydrolocked is there any cheap bare-minimum way to rebuild it? And also, what exactly is hydrolocking?

A hydolocked is when one or more of the cylinders fills up with water. If you try to make this cylinder come up on a compression stroke it will either bend the con-rod or blow out the head gasket. Water will not compress like the fuel air mixture. If it has bent the con-rod there isn't a cheap way out. If it blew the head gasket (not likely) your still not out of the woods because it probally warped the head at the same time.

When the engine hydrolocks, can does it damage the sleeves? Am I gonna have to get work done to the block?

Do you have the stock intake tube? If so, I don't think you could have sucked that much water unless it was actually submerged in water. I think you need to look more into the basics before you go condemning your engine.
Pull your plugs, leave the key OFF, and run a wire from battery '+' to the starter solenoid. The engine should turn over if the battery is good.

I tried pulling the truck in gear with the plugs pulled and it just drug the tires. I'm pretty sure the engine is locked up for good. I'll try bypassing the ignition though.
