13 isnt bad.

13 mpg is not bad for an RV. Just go weigh the unit and I think you'll see why 13 isnt bad.
Remember any wind from the front and especially from the side will reduce mileage. Think of it as a big sail going sideways into the wind.

I have an 87 Toyota Granville with EFI and the best I have ever got was 13 with a tailwind.
It seemed to have more power after I put headers on it, but no appreciable difference in economy.

Mine is a 21 footer. I know many people with 25 and 27 foot Fords and Chevys that get 6 to 8 mpg. They would wet their pants if they could get 13.

Have fun RV'ing

Don't let it bother you, kuto is obviously a young punk that doesn't know any better than to be a blubbering idiot, judging by what is written and the way it was wrote... Enough about that.
I think you're on the right track by upgrading the exhaust, as that could give you more power and better economy. I don't know if the carb will help that much unless you change the intake manifold too - I'd suggest getting something that will improve the mid-band torque to pull all that weight up the hills. How "deep" do you want to go? A new (torquier) cam may be in order. Of course, as you know, your going to reach a point where your quest for power is going to be at a price of reduced economy.
Have you checked some of the pro shops like Jegs, or maybe Downey, to see if they might have what you're looking for?
hey man he apologized geez ............ and he was just trying to help. opinions are like assholes everybody has one...some peoples are just shittier than others!!!!

Hey sub,
You call that an apology? I call that far from from being an apology!
If anyone was trying to be "the bigger man" it was me, by attempting an apology to kuto.
You think he was trying to help? Then don't try helping me... Ever!
Yeah, yeah... The opinions quote is quit old and if anyone is being shitty it's you!
I, at least, was trying to help, which is much more than I can say for kuto (early on in this thread) - later in the thread I'm impressed by how much kuto was being helpful.
At this point I am WAY more impresed by kuto than I am by you - kuto at least offered some very helpful advice, which you have not done at all... If you can't say something good, then don't say anything at all.
I sure hope that you don't think you are trying to moderate the situation. If so, then you'd better go back to school, boy.
kuto has ALL MY RESPECT by not "over compensating" the flaming I threw at him, back at me. I feel bad about flaming kuto and I told him as much.
You apparently missed that, so if you can't read a whole thread, then you have absolutley NO BUSINESS commenting whatsoever.
If you are man enough to accept this "tongue lashing" with some maturity, then as far as I am concerned, all this is "water under the bridge". Otherwise, as far as I am concerned, you do not exist in my world and I'll have no further communication with you.

Mpg

Just installed new plugs, wiring, cap, rotor, air filter.

Drove from Corpus Christi, TX to San Marcos TX, 175 miles and I got 13.5 mpg @ 60 mph.

Have 1987 Granville RV with 22RE EFI.

happy RV-ing
