Timing belt sprocket

so i am putting a new head gasket on my 89 v6 4x4 and the two cams have sprockets for the timing belt what do i use to secure the sprocket from moving when i have my inpact gun on it because the timing belt wont do it
unless dose anyone know if those bolts are reverse thread any help would be great thanks

Did you try a chain clamp (with a rag) around the crank shaft pulley? Or maybe one of those strap wrenches from Craftsman? Thats what I used with my 94 when the engine was out of the truck. Hope this helps.

i have tried a strap rentch but the rubber will just strech and i am starting to think that those bolts are reverse thread dose anyone know for sure one way or the other i have been stuck on those two bolts for two days and i need my truck back

little update the bolts are regular thread and i did get them off with a chain wrench so thank you all the heads are in the shop and getting re built
