my accelerator pedal is very stiff, what can i do to rectify this problem

what year, make & model rig are you working on? I would first make sure nothing is blocking the pedal from moving. Then pop the hood to check out the movement of the throttle body or carb whatever you have. If I were to guess I would say the the butterfly in the body is siezing up making for a stiff pedal.

its a 1992 toyota pickup 22re ...nothing is blocking it.....would the butterfly get soo stiff?. its so stiff i cut of at times n feel that i might eat away my clutch

This is a common problem when the throttle body gets gummed up, particularly around the throttle shaft. Have you given it a good cleaning in the past?
