Lift question

Hello. I have an 01 4wd taco trd sr5 and I am considering raising my truck. I say raise because i dont know if I should get the cornfed 3"lift or if i should get a different suspension lift. With the spacer lift it will probably give a stiffer ride. A suspension lift will be more capable off road. I will not take it off road much but i want it to be able to perform when i need it to. What would you suggest doing. I would like to stay under $500 if possible. Any input would help. THanks

Any spacer lift will be stiffer up front. If you have more money then I recommend getting coilovers (sway-a-ways, Donohoes, Kings, etc.) for the front and shackles or add-a-leafs for the rear. The link below gives you the pros and cons for each type of lift.

Not much you can do with $500. You might want to check out Ebay for used kits.

i have the cornfed lift and it definetly stiffens up the ride quite a bit. Doesnt bother me too much but what does is the moderate driveline vibration that has surfaced from installing the lift. seems to be a common problem when installing any lift or at least the ones that ive done.

How does the driveline vibration happen by lifting your truck? Does it happen with all lifts and what makes it happen? Does it affect the truck any way or damage it with premature ware of other parts? Thanks for the info.
