the fix: fram ( tuff guard ) oil filter with flow back prevention vavle

I cant take credit for this I read it in an old thread and thought I would bump it to the top but could not find the old thread so I decided to start a new 1 Heck maybe it will help someone.

The rebuild is almost done all I have left is bushings and and other small crap.

my 22re in my 87 rattles away, about as bad as the old GM 2.5L in the s-10s pickups, etc,
130k on it and still rattling along

i drive it 100 miles a night highway, 700 a week to work and back

i dont evne worry about it, i just start up and go immediately, not even warm it at all and freezing out, every morning, was snowing this AM,

good luck with rebuild

Just keep an eye on you t/chain guides they tend to break and as a result the chain wears a hole in the T/chain cover oil+coolant = not good. That is what happened to me right @ 128.000 the flow back prevention vavlue get the oil to the tensioners quite a bit faster and gets rid of the chain slop fast
