Wiper problems

I have a '96 Tacoma, Ext Cab, 4WD, V6, 5 sp.. Approx 225,000 km (139,000 miles).

For the 2nd time, my intermittent wipers have died, the slow and fast speed still works. Local toyota dealer replaced a switch the first time about 2 yrs ago, which corrected the intermittent wipers, and it cost me about $200 parts & labour. Now their dead again. Also, the windshied washer no longers works. I checked the pump, that works fine. Possibly a switch too....? I really do not want to take the interior steering column cover off and start screwing with things, that's abit "finer" than my mechanical abilities i'm sure. You don't get far up the road here in the winter without washer fluid.....it's dangerous.

Also my dash lights have quit.

Are these interior problems going to be a regular headache.....?
