Deckplate mod question?

I was reading on another site about the deckplate mod. It said to remove the small 15 amp efi fuse under the hood. It said that once you drive with the deckplate open it will take about a tank worth of gas for the computer to relearn your air intake and recalibrate your shift points. Is it necessary to pull the fuss on a 5 speed taco? If it is will it be easy to locate the efi computer fuss? By the way has anyone else done this and noticed any changes or liked/disliked results?
Thanks for any answer.
