86 4runna makes click when trying to start

Hello all!

i have a 86 4runna with only 113 thousand! Plus I worked at a detail bay so as far as interior and exterior the car looks brand new..but i have recently came across a problem I just can't fix, i figured i would try this forum before taking into a mechanic so he can ass rape me of my money :P

It all started one day when i was on my way to work, i work up in the mountains and sometimes its snowy, so i was just cruising and my car spun out and did a complete 180, i stalled it after the spin, and the car wouldn't start, luckily i was facing down hill and i was able to get some speed and drop the clutch to get it going again.

I thought it was the starter, so i replaced that, and same problem, i go to start it and the only thing i am getting is a odd "click" sound. engine doesn't turn over or anything. i was thinking its just bad wiring... but please someone help!

I was gonna suggest looking at the starter contacts. After that many miles they may have worn down. Bad battery maybe?

Check the simple things first. Dirty battery contacts, ground connection, cables.
