Pre-loading the torsion bars, while it costs you nothing, results in a pretty stiff ride, reduced articulation, and accelerated wear on the CV axles due to the sharper operating angle. Downey makes a kit that allows you to do this properly. It comes with new CV joints (uses a u-joint type system) and I think new torsion bars (don't quote me on that). What's good about that system is that it increases ground clearance and articulation. But for what you'd spend on that, you'd probably be able to get an IFS lift kit for cheaper.

Get some 1.5" Ball joint spacers for the fornt and crnak the torsion bars. Trust me..even if you buy the torsion crnak kit and the BJ spacers..its not gonna cost ya enaras much as a good full complete IFS lift. They run usually on the cheap side $650 all the way up to around $1,200
