Why doesn't Toyota use stainless steel bodys like Delorean

I never knew that Delorean cars actually existed I thought that it was a fake car only used for the popular movie "Back To The Future",apperently they still sell used cars but not new:

http://www.delorean.com

so how come Toyota does not use stainless steel body's like Delorean since Toyotas cost a small fortune?.

FYI- John DeLorean just died on Saturday at the age of 80! Wow. didn't know he was that old.

Nevertheless, the stainless body never caught on with exotic cars. If it did, I'd guess the material would cost 3X more than comparable stamped steel. Plus, people lile to pick their own color. It's even hard to find an aluminum car these days. Even Aston Martin, Ferrari and Porsche are all stamped steel. It's also very easy to form and weld. I think stainless is more difficult and therefore expensive.

Stainless is heavy, expensive, impossible to economically repair, looks like hell when dented...and the dies that stamp sheetmetal panels would last a fraction of the time. Complex, sexy curves would be very hard to do.
