on the 33's I think they said 3.55 gears will be back to where you were but I dont see the point. you shouldnt be losin too much power with what you have, and you can usually get a different speed-o gear to bring your speedometer back to where it should be. I'd say leave it the way you got it.

what kind of bike do you have? i usually have a 99yz250 in the bed of mine. good ol truck doesnt even notice she's back there.

The 22re puts out 112hp 142lbtq in stock form. With 35" tires you'll need 5.29's to turn those babies. Any gear taller than that and you'll be wishing you had a V8 under there. 4.88's are ok and should be just about dead on so you don't have to recal you speedo but 5.29's would be better. 33"'s are perfect for all around use.

Use 4.88's for 33" and 5.29's for 35"s.

I would still use 4.88s with 35" tires. In my experience, I've seen one set of 4.88's fail. But I have known four people who have had to replace their 5.29s. These were all guys with similar setups, who all wheeled together and put their trucks through similar treatment. I think that fewer, bigger teeth make for a stronger gear. While the 4.88/35" combo won't get you back to stock, IMO it'll give you better reliability.

Is there a need? You do not HAVE to change your gears with larger tires. You do it to get back into the stock power curve that the vehicle was designed for. I have been running 33's for over a year. Do I like it? Yes, I love the 33's and No, i wish I could afford 4.88's for front and back. Maybe I'll do my own soon. Just got the call today that I got a maintanence job with the new Toyota plant here in San Antonio.
