Anyone have this turning problem?

I have a 1993 Toyota 2wd Excab 4Cyl 5 Speed. I have had it for about 8 months... no problems, one of the best yota's I have owned. The only problem is the poor turning radius. I have had three yotas in the past (different years) and could make tight turns. My 93 can barely make a U turn and when it's cranked all the way and I hit a small bump the torsion bars make a horrible squeek. So for all the 93 owners... Am I the only one with this problem?

Thanks

Are you running bigger tires than stock? You might not have enough clearance to turn the wheels to full-lock.

My '91 4Runner had 31 x 10.5s when I first got it and it would make this popping sound when you turned the wheels all the way to the right or left.

I put a set of P23575R16s on it and the sound went away.

Were the other tacos Xtracabs? I'm just thinking out loud, but doesn't the wheelbase affect turning radius? Then again I'm not sure if there is enough of a wheelbase difference in the reg. and Xtracab

I've got a crappy turning radius as well. My dad's '97 has it also. I think it's a trait of a Taco.
