Blower Resistor

Ok so I'm back to my heater, My switch seems to be working fine and i do hear my relay and my next step was to check the resistor and i just want to make sure it's in the same place as the pic i have here of an 85'. If anyone can confirm that it's in the same spot i'll take a look at it tonight before it's dark. Thanks.

PS if there was a fuse blown for it the relay wouldn't kick? Correct?

The resistor is in the heater box by the blower motor. It should have a plug in and it is held in with 2 phillips screws.

Alright thanks burger, I didn't get a chance to get to it tonight. I'm out early tomorrow so hopefully I'll get to it. http://www.4crawler.com/4x4/CheapTri.../Blower_01.jpg is this what it looks like?

Is it in the same spot for all Toyotas?

My heater blower doesn't work on the lowest setting (1).....mine goes 1-->2-->3-->Full

I haven't tested my switch yet, but I am glad I found this thread because I wouldn't have known where to go if my switch checked out okay.

Thanks sidney but I kept all the links you dropped in another post. There are a couple diagrams but they are out of an 85' and I just wasn't sure on mine being in the same place.

Ok, my apologies for bringing this up over and over, but i finally got to my resistor and it's fine, it closes curcuit on all three settings. I've been using my multitester and the problem shows there is no power coming to the resistor but the fuse is in tact and the switch works because it's jumping the relay, so the problem is somewhere between the relay and the resistor but it's not the fuse?? Do i have burnt wires?? UGH!

Well good news, taking electronics in school has finally paid off :P Turns out it was a burnt relay, i just cleaned it up and put a new bead of solder on the chummy and it works perfect.
