22re running rich

hello all! just joined up today and left what will probably be considered and overly long introduction of myself (well, actually, my truck) please read about it in the "introduction" section of this forum.

my question/dilema/observation......just installed a hyper-ground system and it seems that the motor is running richer. i have an a/f mixture meter that runs off the 1st O2 sensor before the cat so i can monitor that sort of stuff. anyways, i ran the grounding system per their directions. i've heard that the 22RE motor is poorly grounded in the first place with no direct motor-frame ground and only minimal motor-chassis grounding. anybody out there to confirm or deny? i did a lot of research on the whole grounding thing and feel it's a worthy upgrade (although i know there are lots of folks that will disagree). what i haven't done yet is a direct ground from battery to frame to motor, which is what i was told to do by some heavy-duty audio competitors that seem to be familiar with Toyota wiring. anybody out there with first-hand experience with this? i've already tried going back to LC Engineering, but their tech guy is hard to get hold of and they've pretty much left me on my own since spending a wad of my hard earned dough on their products.

anybody??

much obliged.

Shoot, I saw links somewhere for tuning the AFM and TB. I can't remember where I saw them though. Try searching here, 4x4wire, and yotatech. I had to reset my TB a couple of times as I did different things. Made a good bit of difference on throttle response and idle quality. I cleaned up the TB as well. Haven't messed with the AFM but I have read you can richen/lean the mixture there by ajusting the electronic assembly on the meter. I've been thinking about reworking the ground on my truck as well as it doesn't seem to be too great. Mostly to try to eliminate variables in tuning the engine.

The afm can be adjusted by cutting the black cover of the top. First mark orginal location of hold down clamp on the gear wheel so u can return it to stock if necessary. Loosen clamp screw and rotate gear few teeth as necessary. Clockwise leans and counter clockwise to richen. be sure to make a good silicone seal when replacing lid. Usually don't go mere than 3 to 5 teeth with stock efi
